Network Management and Performance Disclosure

Effective September 23, 2026

MORnet Communications, LLC ("MORnet") provides broadband internet access service in Central Florida. The Federal Communications Commission's transparency rule (47 CFR § 8.1) requires internet providers to disclose their network management practices, performance, and commercial terms so customers can make informed choices and developers can build on the network. This page is that disclosure. It is part of our Service Agreement.

Our commitments

The only exceptions are the reasonable network management practices described below, which exist to keep the network secure and working for everyone.

1. Network management practices

How the service works

MORnet is a fixed wireless network. Each customer has an outdoor antenna aimed at one of our towers. Towers connect to each other and to the internet over licensed and unlicensed microwave links and fiber. Each plan has a maximum speed that is applied to your connection when you sign in to the network. Because a tower's radio capacity is shared by the customers it serves, performance depends on line of sight, distance from the tower, trees, weather, and how many customers are using that tower at the same time.

Congestion management

We add capacity where towers get busy. At busy times, the radio equipment shares the available capacity fairly among active connections, so that no single customer can take all of it. We do not slow individual customers because of the amount of data they use, and we do not single out any application or content. If one connection's traffic is regularly degrading service for others on the same tower, we will contact the customer to find a solution. Apart from each plan's speed limit, we do not shape or rate-limit traffic by customer or by application.

Application-specific behavior

We treat all lawful applications the same. We block one port: TCP port 8291, the remote management port of MikroTik routers, is blocked across our network except from MORnet's own management addresses. Attackers scan the internet for this port to take over routers, including routers in customers' homes and businesses. If you need remote access to your own MikroTik router, use a VPN or ask us. We do not block email ports, including port 25, or any other port or protocol.

Device attachment

You may connect any lawful device that does not harm the network, including your own router, to the Ethernet port of the MORnet equipment. You do not need our approval. MORnet-supplied outdoor radios must stay in place; customer-owned radios cannot connect to our towers.

Security practices

We protect the network against attacks such as denial-of-service floods, spoofed traffic, and compromised devices. When an attack is under way, we may filter or temporarily block the traffic involved, including routing traffic to an attacked address to nowhere until the attack stops. If a device on your connection appears to be infected or attacking others, we will contact you and may restrict the connection until it is fixed. We do not use these tools to block lawful content.

Suspended accounts

When an account is suspended for non-payment, web browsing from that connection is redirected to a page where the customer can pay and restore service. Secure (HTTPS) connections are not intercepted.

IP addresses

Many customers receive a public IP address. Some connections share a public address with other customers through carrier-grade network address translation (CGNAT). A shared address works for browsing, streaming, gaming, and video calls, but it can prevent hosting servers, some remote-access tools, and some game or camera features that need incoming connections. If you need your own address, a static IP is available (see Prices and Fees). We do not yet offer IPv6.

2. Performance

Speed and latency

Each plan has a maximum (provisioned) speed, shown below. Speeds are "up to" speeds: a connection with good line of sight to a lightly loaded tower will reach them, and actual speeds vary with the conditions listed under "What affects the speed you see." Latency on our network is low, typically comparable to cable internet and far below satellite, so video calls, online gaming, and voice work well.

PlanMax downloadMax uploadPrice
Starter (residential)10 Mbps5 Mbps$44.95/mo
Essential (residential)20 Mbps10 Mbps$64.95/mo
Performance (residential)30 Mbps15 Mbps$84.95/mo
Business (business)25 Mbps10 Mbps$74.95/mo

What affects the speed you see

If you are not getting the speed your plan should deliver, call us. We can see your signal and throughput from our side and will fix what is ours to fix.

Real-time applications

All current plans support streaming video, video conferencing, online gaming, and internet phone service. Starter suits one or two streams at a time; heavier households should choose Essential or Performance.

Specialized services

MORnet business voice runs over the same connection as internet service. It uses very little capacity and does not reduce the capacity available for your internet use in any noticeable way. We do not offer other specialized services that share capacity with internet access.
