Acceptable Use Policy
Effective September 23, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of the Service Agreement. It protects our customers, our network, and the wider internet. It applies to everyone who uses a MORnet connection, including guests, household members, and employees of business customers. The account holder is responsible for making sure everyone using the connection follows it.
1. Unlawful and harmful use
Do not use the Service to:
- Break any law or help anyone else break one, including laws on fraud, harassment, threats, stalking, child exploitation, export control, and gambling.
- Infringe copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property, including sharing movies, music, software, or games you do not have the right to share. See the Copyright Policy.
- Send, store, or link to material that exploits minors. We report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as the law requires.
- Impersonate another person or organization, or forge email headers, caller ID, or network addresses.
- Collect other people's personal information without their consent.
2. Network and security abuse
- Accessing, probing, scanning, or testing the security of any system or network without the owner's permission, including MORnet's.
- Launching denial-of-service attacks, flooding, or any traffic meant to disrupt another user, host, or network.
- Distributing viruses, malware, ransomware, or botnet software, or knowingly running an infected device.
- Running an open mail relay, open proxy, or open DNS resolver that others can abuse.
- Tampering with, re-aiming, or modifying MORnet equipment, or connecting to our towers with equipment we did not authorize.
- Using an IP address we did not assign to you.
3. Email, messaging, and calling
- Sending unsolicited bulk or commercial email, texts, or calls, or messages that violate the CAN-SPAM Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, or similar laws.
- Robocalling, autodialing, or caller ID spoofing on MORnet voice service, other than lawful uses you have told us about in advance.
- Harassing anyone by phone, text, or email.
4. Use that fits your plan
- Residential plans are for the household at the service address. Reselling the connection, sharing it with neighbors or other buildings, or running servers for the public requires a business plan.
- There are no data caps. If a single connection's traffic is harming service for others on the same tower, we will contact you to find a fix, which may include moving to a more suitable plan. See the Network Management Disclosure.
5. How we enforce this policy
We do not routinely monitor what you do online. We act on complaints, on automated security alerts, and on problems we see affecting the network. When we find a violation, we will normally contact the account holder and give them a chance to fix it. We may act without notice when there is an ongoing attack, a threat to safety, or unlawful content. Depending on how serious it is, we may:
- Warn you and ask you to stop.
- Block specific traffic, ports, or devices, or quarantine an infected connection until it is cleaned.
- Suspend the Service.
- End the Service for serious or repeated violations.
We cooperate with law enforcement as described in the Customer Privacy Notice. Violations do not entitle you to a credit or refund.
6. Reporting abuse
To report spam, attacks, or other abuse coming from a MORnet network, email [email protected] (subject line "Abuse") with the IP address, date, time with time zone, and log excerpts or full email headers. Copyright notices go to our DMCA agent; see the Copyright Policy.
