911 Notice for Internet Phone Service

Effective September 23, 2026

Important: 911 on internet phone service is not the same as 911 on a traditional landline. Please read this notice, share it with everyone who uses your phones, and keep a label on or near each phone reminding users of these limits.

1. How 911 works on MORnet phone service

When you dial 911, the call is routed to the emergency call center for the address registered to that line, and in most areas the call center sees your phone number and registered address. That is why the registered address must always be correct.

2. When 911 may not work

911 service may be unavailable or limited:

3. What you must do

4. Multi-line phone systems

MORnet business phone systems let anyone dial 911 directly, without a prefix such as 9, and send a location detailed enough for responders to find the caller, such as the building, floor, and suite, as federal law requires (Kari's Law and RAY BAUM'S Act). That location is only as good as the information you give us: tell us every building, floor, and suite where phones are used, and tell us before phones are added or moved, so each one carries the right location. If any phone on your system ever requires a prefix to reach 911, call us right away and we will correct it.

5. Liability

MORnet, its suppliers, and the carriers that route 911 calls are not liable for any failure of or delay in 911 service caused by the conditions described in this notice or by any cause outside MORnet's reasonable control, except as provided by law. See section 11 of the Service Agreement.

6. Acknowledgment

Your voice Service Order includes a confirmation that you have received and understand this notice. Activating or using MORnet voice service also confirms that you have read it and will share it with everyone who uses your phones.
